- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪A few months after having a total thyroidectomy, I felt very off and decided to give Dr. Frey a try. I made sure to inform them I had the surgery when I scheduled the appointment and it was written in my paperwork. During my visit, I mentioned a before/after surgery difference, and he replied "what kind of surgery did you have?" I pointed to the bright red scar on my neck..... he hadn't read my chart at all. I'm feeling very bad, and the only lab he ran was TSH??? There's a whole bunch of other thyroid labs to consider, especially after a TT. He wanted to drastically reduce my meds, wait 3 months, then maybe he would change them again then so I'd start to feel better. So yeah -- feel worse then we'll see???
